Patient Safety Advocacy Service

Expressions of interest are invited for the Establishment and Delivery of the Patient Safety Advocacy Service.

The Department of Health is currently inviting expressions of interest for establishment and delivery of Patient Safety Advocacy Service on  The new service will ensure that independent advocacy and support skills are used to provide free, confidential and practical support and advocacy to services users, in order to assist them in navigating the complaints system, articulating their concerns and finding a resolution to their complaint about their healthcare or provide the support they need in the aftermath of a patient safety incident.

The advocates engaged by the service will adhere to the Competency Framework for Patient Safety and Complaint Advocacy Services and will be required to enrol on and complete the training programme run in 2019 by the Open Training College on behalf of he Department of Health.
