The European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2005

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) Regulations 2002 (S.I. No. 483 of 2002), as previously amended by the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 (S.I. No. 257 of 2003), the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2003 (S.I. No. 451 of 2003), the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2003 (S.I. No. 528 of 2003), the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 (S.I. No. 228 of 2005) and the European Communities (Labelling, Presentation and Advertising of Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2005 (S.I. No. 514 of 2005)

These Regulations implement Commission Directive 2005/26/EC of 21 March 2005 establishing a list of food ingredients or substances provisionally excluded from Annex IIIa of Directive 2000/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. These Regulations also implement Commission Directive 2005/63/EC of 3 October 2005 correcting Directive 2005/26/EC concerning the list of food ingredients or substances provisionally excluded from Annex IIIa of Directive 2000/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. The purpose of these Directives is to temporarily exempt allergen derivatives that are no longer allergenic from the allergen labelling rules
