Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001, (Commencement) Order (No. 2), 2001

This Order appoints the 1st day of August, 2001 as the date for the coming into operation of section 2 of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001 . Section 2 amends section 3 of the Tobacco (Health Promotion and Protection) Act, 1988 (No. 24 of 1988) and raises the age limit at which tobacco products can legally be sold to young persons from sixteen years to eighteen years. The maximum fine on persons convicted for selling to underage persons is also increased from £500 to £2000
