European Communities (Purity Criteria on Food Additives Other Than Colours and Sweeteners ) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Purity Criteria on Food Additives other than Colours and Sweeteners) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 541 of 1998 ) and may be cited as the European Communities (Purity Criteria on Food Additives other than Colours and Sweeteners) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001

These Regulations implement Commission Directive 2000/63/EC which amends Commission Directive 96/77/EC laying down specific purity criteria on food additives other than colours and sweetners as set out in Council Directive 95/2/EC

This S.I. replaces the purity criteria already laid down for E320 — butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) – and establishes new purity criteria for some categories of additives listed in Council Directive 95/2/EC as an addition to those purity criteria already established in the Annex to Commission Directive 96/77/EC and Directive 98/86/EC
