European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) (Amendment No.3) Regulations, 2002

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2000 ( S.I. No. 437 of 2000 ) and may be cited as the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) (Amendment No.3 Regulations, 2002

These Regulations implement Commission Directive 2001/50/EC of 3 July 2001 amending Directive 95/45/EC laying down specific purity criteria concerning colours for use in foodstuffs

Purity criteria concern the specifications and analytical techniques for all approved additives. This S.I. replaces the purity criteria specification for the colours mixed carotenes (E160a(i) and beta-carotene (E160a(ii)) which had originally been laid down in Directive 95/45/EC
