Infertility is a medical and social condition that can cause considerable social, emotional and psychological distress. It is estimated to affect one in six couples in Ireland (CAHR, 2005); however, it is still a topic that is not widely discussed or for which help is easily accessible.This report aims to provide an overview of the range of psychological, emotional, social and practical difficulties that women affected by fertility problems often encounter.
