Three Year Rehabilitative Programme Graduations
Minister O´Malley congratulates trainees at Graduation Ceremony in Drumcar Park Enterprises
Mr Tim O´Malley TD, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, today (15th July, 2004) attended the graduation of trainees from Drumcar Park Enterprises. This service is provided by the St. John of God North East Services to persons with an intellectual disability. The Minister said “this achievement will bring to each of the graduates a measure of independence so valued by all of us in society today”.
Minister O´Malley congratulated the graduates on having undergone the three year Rehabilitative Training Programme, the standards for which are set by the London Chamber of Commerce Industrial Examinations Board.
Minister O´Malley also congratulated their parents, teachers, the North Eastern Health Board and the St. John of God Order for their encouragement, help and commitment throughout the period of the course. The Minister said “this commitment helps and encourages people who have an intellectual disability to develop attitudes, knowledge and skills which are necessary for them to achieve fulfilment and enables them to achieve their life goals”.
