Third Anniversary of ‘A Vision for Change’ – Press Statement by Mr. John Moloney, T.D, Minister for State
Mr. John Moloney, T.D, Minister for State with responsibility for Equality, Disability and Mental Health today, (Friday 23rd January 2009) reiterated the Government’s commitment to the reform of mental health services in line with ‘A Vision for Change’ the Report of the Expert Group on Mental Health Policy.
The Minister will host a press briefing at the Government Press Centre, Government Buildings at 11:00 am on Monday 26th January to mark the third anniversary of the publication of ‘A Vision for Change’. The Minister said “This anniversary, the third of the 7-10 year plan outlined in Vision, is an important milestone and presents an opportunity to take stock, assess where we are in terms of implementation and pave the way for the continued improvement of mental health services”.
The Minister added that “the briefing will present an opportunity to report on progress to-date on implementation, to showcase innovations in service delivery and identify key priorities for implementation in 2009 for the further development of our mental health services”.
