National Health Strategy Consultative Forum is postponed by Minister Martin
The Minister for Health and Children, Mr. Micheál Martin, T.D., today (2 March, 2001) announced that he was postponing the planned inaugural meeting of the National Health Strategy Consultative Forum which was due to be held on Monday next (5 March, 2001). The postponement is a precautionary measure aimed at limiting the threat posed by Foot and Mouth Disease.
The National Health Strategy Consultative Forum is a key element in a wide-ranging consultative process to help develop the new Health Strategy which is due to be completed by mid-year. The Consultative Forum is made up of around 160 stakeholders in the health system, including health professionals, consumers and management. It will be chaired by Dr. Danny O’Hare and will provide advice to the Department of Health and Children on the style and content of the new Strategy.
The Minister hopes to reschedule this Forum at the earliest possible opportunity.
