Ms Máire Hoctor, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children with responsibility for Older People, today, 7th November 2007, addressed the Caring for Carers Conference in the Mansion House in Dublin
Caring for Carers Ireland is a national voluntary organisation supporting family carers. The organisation aims to promote the health, well-being and quality of life of family carers and those for whom they care.
Speaking at the conference the Minister said ‘Carers play a crucial role in society and in our health system. They are a valuable resource, and deserve to feel appreciated.’ The Minister added ‘We are committed to ensuring carers receive a comprehensive range of services to enable you to continue to care in a way that ensures a high quality of life for both yourselves and your dependants’
