Minister O’Malley addresses the Mid West Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus First Annual conference in Limerick
Mr. Tim O’Malley T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children today (Saturday 19th November) addressed Mid West Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus First Annual conference in Limerick.
The Minister commended IASBAH for its nationwide campaign highlighting the importance of folic acid for women of childbearing age, among young women, the general public, educational institutions and medical professionals. Minister O’Malley said “the folic acid campaign is an example of extremely good practice in the realm of public private partnership in the development of population health”.
The Minister stressed the need “to underpin the mainstreaming process by providing young people with disabilities with the support needed to enable them to function and succeed in the mainstream environment” especially through initiatives such as IASBAH’s development of a Youth Programme
