Minister of State Hoctor launches Roscrea Primary Care Team
Máire Hoctor T.D., Minister for Older People, today officially launched the new Primary Care Team at Roscrea, Co. Tipperary.
Speaking in Roscrea, the Minister stated that the new Team “will contribute significantly to the provision of quality health services in this area and is in keeping with the aims of the Primary Care Strategy.
“At the heart of the Strategy is the aim of developing services in the community to give people direct access to integrated multi-disciplinary teams of general practitioners, nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and others”, she said.
The Minister referred to the development of the infrastructure for the teams which she said will include using existing facilities, building new facilities or leasing from the private sector. She indicated that the HSE is continuing negotiations for the provision of a new Primary Care Centre in Roscrea. Until that is achieved, the new team will continue to operate from the reconfigured child care premises. The Minister commended all those involved in development of the Primary Care Team at Roscrea.
