Minister Lynch welcomes positive outcome following negotiations between HSE and Psychiatric Nurses Association
Minister of State with responsibility for Primary Care, Social Care, and Mental Health Kathleen Lynch today, Thursday 4th June 2015, welcomed the conclusion of industrial action by the Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) at the acute mental health service in Galway. This follows positive negotiations between the HSE and the PNA which took place in recent days.
“I want to thank officials from the PNA and the HSE for engaging in a negotiated process facilitated by the Labour Relations Commission. The positive outcome from these talks ensures that a full service can be restored in Galway in a way that is safe for staff and patients. I am particularly pleased that both sides have agreed a continuous mechanism for positive engagement between staff on the front line and senior management which will allow for immediate discussions should issues arise in the future.”
