Minister Hoctor launches the findings of ‘Mountview Parish Older Persons Needs Analysis’ research survey at Fortlawn Community Centre
The Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children with responsibility for Older People, Ms. Máire Hoctor, T.D., today (Tuesday, 18th November) launched the findings of a research survey carried out in Mountview Parish, Dublin 15 entitled ‘Mountview Parish Older persons Need Analysis’.
Through its involvement with the community, the Mountview Resource Centre identified an information gap on the needs of over 60’s in the Parish and raised the needs and concerns of older people at the Mountview RAPID Area Implementation Team meetings. As a result, this research was commissioned and undertaken by Dr. Pat Bogue of Broadmore Research.
Speaking at the launch of the research, Minister Hoctor, T.D., said “I would like to congratulate the Mountview Family Resource Centre and the Mountview RAPID Area Implementation Team for their foresight in commissioning this piece of work which has identified priority areas which will enable local groups and State agencies to respond in a more strategic and effective manner to meet the needs of older people in the Mountview area into the future”.
She added that “This research has provided the older people of Mountview an important opportunity to voice their concerns, views and make suggestions about how their community can be improved and shaped into the future. The significant contribution that older people have made to this research is invaluable and I thank everyone who has participated in its formulation”.
