Minister for Primary Care Kathleen Lynch confirms GP sign up for under 6s scheme
Minister of State for Primary Care, Kathleen Lynch T.D. this evening rejected the suggestion from the NAGP that the information provided by her in the Dail this morning was inaccurate. Minister of State Lynch confirmed that some 830 GPs had returned contracts by 27 May, signing up for the new Under 6s free GP scheme.
“There has been far too much misinformation circulated in an attempt to dissuade GPs from participating in the scheme. In my experience, GPs are more than capable of deciding for themselves, based on true and accurate information, if they wish to participate.
The number outlined by me this morning is accurate. It has increased since then and we expect it to increase further over the coming week. The NAGP may wish to question the veracity of their own research, which is at variance with the facts.”
