Minister Callely visits new Rehabilitation Unit at Bantry General Hospital
Mr Ivor Callely T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, with special responsibility for Services for Older People, today, (19 August 2004) visited the new extension at Bantry General Hospital.
The new extension incorporates a Rehabilitation Unit, and a newly refurbished Intensive Care unit.
The new eight bedded rehabilitation and assessment unit was opened in January 2004 and will cater for this essential service for older people.
“As we all work to create a society for all ages, a fully inclusive society in which all citizens, irrespective of age, can enjoy fulfilling lives, I applaud all who are committed to improving the lives of older people” stated the Minister.
Minister Callely congratulated Mr. Pat Cronin, who, in consultation with nursing and medical staff, designed the new building, and for his tireless work and dedication to this project.
