Minister Callely attends a celebration dinner for Eastern Regional Health Authority
Mr Ivor Callely T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, today, (16 June 2004) attended a celebration dinner for the Eastern Health Authority (ERHA)
Speaking at the celebration dinner Minister Callely paid tribute to the ERHA for the excellent work the Authority had done in the development of services in the Eastern Region since its inaugural meeting in March 2000.
Minister Callely referred to the implementation of the Health Service Reform Programme and the challenges ahead and stated that everyone is working steadily to provide for the changeover to the new system in January 2005.
The Minister told the members that each City and County Manager has received communication yesterday from his Department regarding the establishment of regional forums based on the membership of the local authority to facilitate local public representatives in raising issues of concern in relation to health services within the region of the new Executive.
He thanked the Board of ERHA, the management and staff for their dedicated service and wished them well into the future.
