Mary Harney T.D., Minister for Health and Children, addresses the National Accreditation Awards Ceremony

Mary Harney T.D., Minister for Health and Children, today (Tuesday, 19th June, 2007 ) addressed the National Accreditation Awards Ceremony in the City West Hotel, Saggart, Co. Dublin. The Minister commended the National Accreditation Committee for its nationwide work in overseeing the assessments of the Training Centres.

The National Accreditation Committee (NAC) provides accreditation on behalf of the Department of Health and Children and the Health Service Executive (HSE) to over 150 training centres providing Rehabilitative Training (RT) services against the Standard for Training and Development of People with Disabilities (QA00/01).

The Minister congratulated the representatives of the 24 centres receiving their accreditation awards today and also thanked all those associated with the administration of the accreditation system and the organisation of today’s event.

Minister Harney said ” I offer my heartiest congratulations to all those associated with these awards and particularly those who have worked so hard to reach the standard required to receive this recognition. The hard work and untiring commitment to promoting first-rate standards makes each of you deserving recipients of your awards. Supporting the agencies involved in the maintenance of a high standard of training service provision for people with disabilities will continue to remain a priority for my Department”
