Martin calls on nurses to re-consider
The Minister for Health and Children, Micheál Martin TD, is extremely disappointed that the Nursing Alliance has decided to go ahead with its industrial action.
Over the last number of weeks genuine efforts have been made by the Chief Executives of the Health Agencies and the HSEA so as to focus attention on the difficulties in the A & E departments across the country.
As late as this afternoon discussions were continuing on the actions that could be taken to relieve the pressures on the staff and very positive progress was being made to improve the situation on the ground.
Minister Martin appeals to the Nursing Alliance to re-consider its position even at this late stage in the interest of patient care and safety.
