Martin asks Labour Relations Commission to intervene in Nurses Dispute
Micheál Martin TD, Minister for Health and Children has today (Wed 13 March) asked the LRC to intervene in the current dispute relating to Accident & Emergency Departments.
The Minister said that he regretted that the significant engagement that has taken place over the last number of weeks between the HSEA and the Nursing Alliance both at local and national level did not result in a deferral of strike action. However significant progress was made.
At this juncture the intervention of an objective third party could provide a fresh impetus to the process and assist in the resolution of outstanding issues. The LRC has a very positive record of assisting in the resolution of some of the State´s most difficult disputes.
