National Oral Health Policy Stakeholders Consultation Day
On Wednesday 6th May 2015, the National Oral Health Policy Stakeholders Consultation Day took place at Thomond Park Conference Centre, Limerick. Kathleen Lynch T.D., Minister of State with responsibility for Primary Care opened the event. It was attended by key oral health stakeholders, who were invited to express their views and opinions on the future development of oral health care services.
“Consultative events as these are of integral importance to the development of policy which is both evidence-informed and which has the considered input of oral health stakeholders,” said Minister Lynch.
Minister Lynch congratulated Dr Dympna Kavanagh, Chief Dental Officer, on her progress to date in developing oral health services, and in leading the development of a new National Oral Health Policy. Recommendations and insights arising from the day’s discussions will inform the ongoing development of the new National Oral Health Policy.
Minister Lynch invited those present to continue to engage with the Department and to encourage their colleagues to do likewise in order to ensure that their views are reflected in the Department’s vision for the development of oral health care delivery. She wished the attending delegates success in their deliberations. A report detailing the outcomes from the day’s proceedings is available here.
