Appointment of Mr Eamonn Grennan to the Physiotherapists Registration Board

Following a Public Appointments Service (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris T.D., with the consent of the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, has appointed the following non-professional member to the Physiotherapists Registration Board with effect from 02 October 2018 to 19 May 2022:

Mr Eamonn Grennan

Mr Grennan is a former lecturer in Earth Science and Mathematics in Environmental Science Department in the Institute of Technology Sligo, a position from which he retired in 2010 after 15 years’ service.  He also previously served as a Visiting Lecturer in Applied Geochemistry, Mining Engineering and Economic Geology at University College Cork and University College Galway. He has extensive experience in the mining industry, having worked for over 30 years in Ireland and abroad as a geologist and in senior managerial positions. His professional experience includes 5 years as a member of the Board of the Higher Education Authority, where he also served as a member of the Audit Committee and the System Performance and Governance Committee. Other professional associations include, inter alia, membership of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland and the European Federation of Geologists, and as Past-President (and founder member) of the Irish Association for Economic Geology. Mr Grennan’s academic qualifications include an MSc. in Environmental Science.
