Social Workers Registration Board
The then Minster for Health and Children appointed the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) on 5 August 2010. The objective of the SWRB is to protect the public by fostering high standards of professional conduct, professional education, training and competence among social workers.
Under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, the SWRB at CORU has assumed statutory responsibility for the assessment, approval and monitoring of training courses for the health and social care professions under the Act; established the code of professional conduct and ethics and standards of performance to which social workers must adhere. The Board is also designated Competent Authority and is responsible for recognition of non-national qualifications.
