Health Promotion and Improvement

Health Promotion and Improvement aims to embed preventative health measures and messages in the settings where people are born, live, learn, socialise and work.

Lifestyle behaviours impacting on health will be addressed such as smoking, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity and obesity. Collaboration across the health sector and with key external agencies and organisations to effect improvements in individual, community and population health will be critical.

Healthy Eating Guidelines

Your Guide to Healthy Eating Using the Food PyramidIn June 2012 the Minister for Health launched two publications which provide general information and advice which complement many of the actions the Government is taking on obesity.
